The Santa Cruz county needle exchange program, also known as the “harm reduction coalition” faces a possible lawsuit.
A county document claims organizers of the needle exchange are negligent because of the reported presence of thousands of discarded needles littered around Santa Cruz and beach areas. The document was filed by a group of plaintiffs including the “grant park neighborhood association.:
Meanwhile, organizers of the needle exchange say they haven’t received notification of the lawsuit at this time.
