Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a report of a fake shooting last night in Capitola. Deputies responded to the 600 block of 34th Street around 9 p.m. to find a vacant home under construction. Deputies received the call from a third party line, and were unable to trace the number back, but believe it came from someone affiliated with UC Santa Cruz. Deputies say the report is a hoax.
