Sheriff’s deputies expect to charge 36-year-old Patrick Collins of Aptos with murder in connection with the Wednesday afternoon shooting and stabbing of two people at a residence off Trout Gulch Rd. Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Dee Baldwin said Collins has been released from the hospital and will be jailed in Santa Cruz. The dead woman and injured man have not had their identities released. The man remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
