Police department hosts Aug. 6 open house 06-22-19 DC 6

The Santa Cruz Police Department will celebrate National Night Out with a free community open house from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 6 at police headquarters, 155 Center St.

Police say the event will be an opportunity for the department to say thank you to residents for working closely with officers and creating a partnership to improve the community.

The event will feature activities for kids and adults, station tours and live demonstrations. The Santa Cruz Police Officers Association will have a booth passing out free cotton candy. 

Open house events include:

  • Tours of the department.
  • K-9 demonstration.
  • A closer look at police vehicles.
  • Crime scene investigation interactive activity.
  • Equipment displays and demonstrations.
  • Police motorcycle skills demonstration.
  • Meet SCPD officers, rangers, CSOs and volunteers
  • Learn about police careers and volunteering.
  • Crime prevention Information.
  • Refreshments and giveaways.

Free parking is provided at Depot Parking Lot, 107 Center St. and bike valet at SCPD.
