a high speed chase through the streets of castroville and salinas yesterday ended in a crash. monterey county sheriff’s deputies engaged in a chase with an 18 year-old, after he failed to follow deputies’ requests to pull over around 2 p.m.. topping speeds of over 100-miles an hour, the chase ended in salinas when the suspect’s cadillac escalade landed on its side while making a turn. no one was injured in the chase, just damage to vehicles. the suspect is currently in an area hospital undergoing an examination. he will be booked into monterey county jail upon his release from the hospital.
