The Salinas Police Department will be utilizing a 3.4 million dollar grant for providing school resource officers. After several local school districts declined to have officers placed on their campuses, the Santa Rita Union Elementary School District has entered into an agreement with the department. The school district could see School Resource Officers at schools by next month.
