noted local feminist poet adrienne rich passed away this week, at the age of 82. along with using her poetry to educate people about feminism, gay rights, and anti-war activities, rich influenced several generations on the subjects of the day…whether it was racism, sexuality, or other issues. rich, who had taught at a number of colleges and universities including cornell, stanford, and san jose state, had lived in santa cruz since the 1980’s. adrienne rich is survived by her partner of 35 years (michelle), as well as their sons david, jacob, and pablo…and rich’s sister (cynthia).
