The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

Some foreign treaties or agreements that our leaders make are totally idiotic and blatantly benefit the other country involved.

Case in point:   Please listen to this recent citizen petition which I received and will quickly sign and return.

It is possible that our Congress will do nothing with this petition.

WHEREAS the U.S. Commissioner of Social Security signed a so-called “Totalization Agreement” with the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute, and

WHEREAS the totalization plan may permit illegal immigrants from Mexico who have only worked 18 months in the United States to get a lifetime of Social Security payments funded by we U.S. taxpayers, and

WHEREAS the cost of paying Social Security to millions of illegal immigrant workers would bankrupt our Social Security, and

WHEREAS individuals who have violated America’s immigration laws should not be permitted to benefit from their illegal activities, and

WHEREAS providing Social Security to illegal immigrants is unfair to American workers who have paid into the Social Security system, and are counting on it for their retirements, finally,

WHEREAS the Constitution of the United States provides that citizens may petition the federal government to take action.

Therefore, We the People demand that Nancy Pelosi bring the law called Social Security for Americans only Act, HR160, to the floor to be voted on by the House now to protect once and for all those of us who have funded the Social Security and exclude those Mexicans who have not.

P.S. – I broadcast this commentary a while ago for only two days – and then removed it to check why the “Social Security for Americans only Act HR160 which was introduced by Ron Paul in January 2009, two years ago, to protect Americans, has remained in limbo, and has not been voted on.

It is because of the disloyal Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who really want to share our Social Security with illegal Mexicans.

Pelosi will not allow this Act to be voted on.   We must force her to do so.

We must also demand that Sam Farr, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein vote yes on yes on this Bill.

It is imperative to be loyal to your own Country!

Why do the Democratic bleeding hearts care more about illegals than they do for their own American citizens?

One wonders what diabolical instincts direct some people to always choose to give enormous perks to those who are illegal – at the expense of We Americans, while those who enter our Country legally are totally ignored and punished for being legal!

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

Dear Listeners of KSCO,

For the most part, I feel we are like a family who have bonded together through the years and care deeply about human and worldly issues.

What is happening to our brethren in Japan as we speak is so horrendously dangerous and painful – and we care so much and yet we are fully aware that their experiences could be happening to us.

Can it be that God is angry with the world He created?

Can He be disappointed with His handiwork when He expected we humans would be good to one another and He is feeling that as time goes by we are becoming more and more corrupt, insensitive, unkind, and even downright cruel to each other?

Perhaps these catastrophes in Japan are God’s way of saying to us “Shape up and start treating each other humanely so that I can be proud of My Creation – or I shall wipe out this world and start all over again.”

Why Japan was the Country to experience all this pain now is an answer we do not know.   Perhaps Japan’s character was the ideal Country to handle and withstand God’s wreck because through this amazing painful week we learn some admirable characteristics about the Japanese.

The people of Japan have displayed an amazing strength of character, honor, pride, calm awareness and astonishing independence and strength in this hurtful time and are wonderful role models for the rest of us.   For them, looting has been unthinkable.

Perhaps through them God is telling the world again “Shape up, do it right, or else.”

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

Last Fall, Obama’s radical Left agenda received a strong negative response, but that has not deterred him.   Instead, he is giving the American people the middle finger and is rapidly moving ahead with his agenda.

His new plan is to circumvent Congress and implement his socialist schemes through unelected bureaucracies like the Federal Communications Commission – the FCC.

He aims to shut down talk radio before the 2012 election.

Obama needs only three votes from the five-member FCC to shut down conservative radio.

          He just got it.

One new Commissioner is Mignon Clyburn, daughter of Democratic House leader Jim Clyburn, who also wants to shut down talk radio.

Second chosen Commissioner is Julius Genachowski who has clerked for many liberal Judges.

And, the final new person on the FCC is Mark Lloyd, called the FCC Chief Diversity Officer who is also a senior fellow of the far Left, Center for American Progress, funded by billionaire liberal George Soros.

With more conservatives in the Senate, and a majority in the House, we have a chance to block the FCC and force the President to back off his plan.

I say – isn’t it clear when someone powerful want to silence someone else, it must be because the eager silencer knows that his position might not be so strong or fair.    How cowardly.

But, Obama does not care – he will move fast because he really wants a four-year second term.

As we speak, Obama, et al., just came up with new ways to destroy talk radio.

According to Dick Morris in his new book “Revolt”, the FCC now plans to close down stations the following four ways:

#1.   Shorten license for station from eight years to four years.

#2.   25% of talk station programming must be locally produced.

#3.   Require stations to establish community advisory boards.

#4.   FCC also wants to fine radio stations which break the above rules.

All this is to stifle free speech.

          Shame on you, Barack!

Most radio talk stations will not allow themselves to be dictated to in this oppressive and dictatorial manner, and will fight the arrogant restrictions.

Listeners, here we have a taste of socialism.

Are we really doing to give Obama another four years?

All we can do is to be alert, and reject loud and clear, and tell our Congress to deny any funding whatsoever for the FCC.

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

It is clear that our government often gives power to certain inept individuals to make treaties or agreements with foreign countries and they do not – I repeat – do not, consider the best interests of our own Country.   In short, they are either bad negotiators, or stupid.

Some treaties or agreements are totally idiotic and blatantly benefit the other country involved.

Case in point:   Please listen to this recent citizen petition which I received and will quickly sign and return.

WHEREAS the U.S. Commissioner of Social Security signed a so-called “Totalization Agreement” with the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute, and

WHEREAS the Constitution of the United States provides that citizens may petition the federal government to take action.

Therefore, I demand that you co-sponsor and vote for legislation such as the Social Security for Americans Only Act, that is HR160, that was presented during the last 111th Congress.

So, caring listeners – please call Sam Farr, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein, our three California representatives about this monstrosity, and demand that they vote yes on Social Security for Americans Only Act.

One wonders what diabolical instincts direct some leaders to always choose to give enormous perks to those who are illegal – at the expense of We Americans, while those who enter our Country legally are totally ignored and punished for being legal!

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

          Dear Listeners,

What I am about to tell you is going to be very disturbing, but you must know this and pass it on.

Let’s call this commentary “Obama’s war on democracy.”

The alliance between Obama and the liberal media must be exposed and broken now.   The liberal media has been coopted by the Obama administration.   The liberal talking points flow from D.C. liberals to the media and then on to the American people, and by that time they call it news.

We are being mis-led by an Obama-controlled liberal media, and unless this unholy alliance is exposed and broken, it will bankrupt our nation both fiscally and morally.

A quick look at how the networks are covering the flap over Wisconsin public union employees says it all –

Liberal ABC called it “Mutiny in America – public workers take to the streets as Governors try to cut their pay and perks.”

Gripped by a three billion dollar budget crisis, the State of Wisconsin cannot just print money like Washington liberals do.   Cuts have to be made, but the Governor never proposed the salary and wage cuts that were reported by ABC.   They lied.

Meanwhile, NBC’s liberal Brian Williams applauded employees for “rising up and saying no to some of the most extreme cuts in the nation.”     Extreme cuts?   That is nonsense.  The Governor asked government workers to cover a modest 6% bump in their already generous healthcare coverage.

And, behind it all is President Obama, who quickly chose sides by calling the cost cutting actions an assault on unions.   It was also revealed that President Obama’s political operation, which is called Organizing for America, is supporting the demonstrators in Wisconsin by sending bus loads of protesters to Madison and they are manning the phones.

With the complete encouragement of the Obama administration, the media is using Wisconsin to demonize conservatives – describing them as mean-spirited, callous, and oppressive.

This is not journalism.  This is propaganda and brainwashing.   The so-called “news media” are willing to do whatever it takes to help the President implement his Socialist agenda.             Our only chance is to expose and break the Obama-liberal media alliance that lyingly fans the flames of discord that will bring our nation to its knees.    We must do everything in our power to end this betrayal on the part of our President.

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

I recorded this commentary 3-23-2007 and it is in my book in the section Part 2, United States of America.

In our democratic society, how come the way we elect our most important leader – the President – is not democratic?

Whoever believes he or she has the wherewithal to be our leader must have $100 million for campaign expenses.

This system must have been in place for so long that no one seems to question it.

True, George Washington was a wealthy, and most loved patriot.  So was Abraham Lincoln, but he was poor, and he became President.

Through the years, the cost of running for public office went up probably rapidly especially once the internet and TV became the perfect vehicles to showcase candidates.

Let’s take Hillary Clinton – actually let’s not.  She has been a Presidential wannabe since she moved into the White House.

Remember that foolish campaign wording of “You’ll get two for the price of one.”  Whoever wanted Hillary in the first place?

She has accomplished nothing to make herself a candidate for the Presidency, except that she has a war chest of over $100 million.  And, oh yeah, she claims it takes a village to raise a child.  That is nonsense.

Someone also started the rumor that she is the smartest woman in the world, and that is a crock, also.

No wonder we wind up with mediocre leaders most of the time.  Franklin Delano Roosevelt was pretty good though he was a racist.  He could not find room in our country for a ship load of Holocaust victims so he sent them back to Germany to die.  Harry Truman the haberdasher was a simple honest courageous man who truly meant it when he said “The buck stops here.”  As Vice President, he inherited the Presidency when Roosevelt died.  He had integrity and respect for the office, and also the courage to make the agonizing decision to end the war in Japan, saving many thousands of lives.  His decision heralded in the Atomic Age.

Back to Hillary – a contrived and staged creature who lives by the polls just like Bill did.  Her magnum opus was her health plan and it was a disaster, discarded by the entire Congress.  She was a liar who would not remember anything while under oath.  She lied about her questionable documents while with the Rose Law Firm, and mysteriously had them brought forth anonymously many months later.

She and Bill helped themselves to furniture and other treasures that were not nailed down when they left the White House, and when ordered to return the furniture and artwork, they did so shamelessly.

And now, they both want another eight years in the White House?  God help us.  Their greatest flaw is their arrogance and underestimation of the intelligence of We the People.

Why do I discredit Hillary now?   Because I believe she will be a candidate for President next year in 2012.   I hope I am wrong.

I believe the honest way to obtain Presidential candidates may be with government rules which state that candidates are not permitted to use their own money to campaign.  Rather, each candidate should be given some sum of government funds.

That would seem to be a more level playing field, and then may the best one for the job win, instead of the one with the most millions.   The playing field should whittle down to two candidates who have proven themselves to be able to make valid decisions.

Those two should receive the bulk of the government funds for their final campaigning.

Kudos to Doris Sanden for providing some much-needed chuckle time.  These may have been around for a while, but they are still delightful.

A paraprosdukian (or maybe it is paraprosdokian, from the Greek meaning beyond expectation) is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to refrain or reinterpret the first part.

Here are a few good ones:
*  Do not argue with an idiot.  He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
*  The last thing I want to do is hurt you, but it is still on my list.
*  Light travels faster than sound.  That is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
*  If I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.
*  We never really grow up.  We only learn how to act in public.
*  War does not determine who is right – only who is left.
*  Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
*  Evening news is where they begin with “Good evening” and then proceed to tell you why it is not.
*  To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism.  To steal from many is research.
*  I did not say it was your fault.  I said I was blaming you.
*  Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut and still think that they are sexy.
*  Behind every successful man is his woman.   Behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman.
*  A clear conscious is the sign of a fuzzy memory.
*  Money cannot bring happiness, but it sure makes misery easier to live with.
*  I used to be indecisive.  Now I am not sure.
*  You are never too old to learn something stupid.
*  Nostalgia is not what it used to be.
*  Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
*  Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a car.
*  A diplomat is someone who tells you to go to Hell in such a way that you look forward to the trip.
And finally –
*  Hospitality is making your guests feel at home even when you wish they were.

The following is an encore presentation of an earlier KSCO commentary broadcast.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

I wrote this on February 29, 2004, and it is in Part 2 of my book in section “United States of America”.

Well, isn’t there always something to fill us with angst.  This time it is the gays confronting the traditionalists, and the issue is becoming more hairy and the gays are behaving like anarchists.

With the help of certain lawbreaking Mayors and Judges, and other jurisdictions who are getting into the act, many gays are celebrating their so-called marriages.

Almost everyone agrees that same sex partners will and should have some legal rights as a married couple, that is a man and a woman.

Now, gays, unhappy with the wording “legal partnership” want their union to be called a marriage.

Since forever, marriage has been between a man and a woman and nothing more.  When children come into a marriage, they have one mother and one father and in no way ever can two fathers or two mothers be a marriage.  So, it looks like there is a stalemate.

There is, however, a reasonable solution.   Remember Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” when Romeo said “What’s in a name?   A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

To satisfy everyone, I propose that unions between gays could be called a garriage with a “g”.  That would sound the closest to the world marriage without trivializing the institution of marriage.  Just change one letter, an “m” to a “g” and if gays say the word fast enough, it sounds like marriage – even though it is not.

Gays could get garried, hopefully have stable garriages, and celebrate long and happy years of gatrimony together.   Now, isn’t that a real good King Solomon type solution?

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

I wrote this commentary in July 2007.  Now, 3½ years later, it is even more relevant.  It is in my book, in Part 3, The World.

Finally, we are experiencing an economic recovery, a jobless one.  Millions of U.S. jobs no longer exist, and the people are using the fact as a campaign issue to blame President Bush, now Obama, and they demand that he create new jobs.

So, let’s go back to about halfway through the first Clinton term.   Clinton convinced by corporate advisors and lobbyists, urged Congress to create the North American Free Trade Agreement, known as NAFTA.

That plan was to make trade a level playing field for all nations, even the poor ones.   NAFTA did become law, but over the vigorous protests of many Americans and labor unions who saw that our Country would not benefit from these agreements.

          I felt that way, too.

One year later GAT (the global form of NAFTA) also became law.  That low swooshing sound at first was thousands of U.S. companies sending pink slips to millions of longtime employees after which those companies set up operations in other countries where labor was much cheaper.

It took time before the full impact of NAFTA and GAT was felt.   Foreign trading partners and American companies in foreign countries have benefited at the expense of the U.S. economy.

To add to the NAFTA and GAT fiascos, shortly after our government voted China “Most Favored Nation” status, certain well-placed politicians stood to gain big-time by the China move.

The results of those two trade treaties are now obvious.  A large part of the U.S. manufacturing industry died.  Untold amounts of U.S. jobs are gone – forever.

Now, China and other countries produce most of our clothing, and most of everything else.   Many high tech companies have left our shores for greener and cheaper pastures, as did other industries.

Furthermore, our trade agreements are lopsided.  We buy much more from China and elsewhere than they choose to buy from us, and I think that is crazy, and that is the way things are right now.   Trade only makes sense if it is balanced.   Otherwise, it is a joke.

This brings to mind another short-sighted disaster created by that one-time Democratic President Jimmy Carter, a prime example of the disconnected Left.

He gave away the Panama Canal, which we built and completed in 1914.  Guess who controls that now – China does.   And, that liberal move will haunt us for a long time to come.

In 1992, Bill Clinton won the election with the frequent use of the quote “It’s the economy, stupid.”   And now, in 2004, George Bush will win if he remembers to remind the electorate again and again what really happened to the evaporation of U.S. jobs – “It’s NAFTA and GAT, stupid.”

The following is a KSCO commentary.  Here is Kay Zwerling:

No one can disagree that ours is the most generous nation in the world when it comes to helping other countries – especially if they are the recipients of very bad luck – like Haiti, for example, when one year ago an enormous earthquake devastated the entire country.

Throughout this year, we have been reminded via TV that in Haiti millions became homeless, streets are filled with mud, safe drinking water is still not available, much sickness prevails, and as we speak, now the disaster remains exactly the same as it was one year ago.

What is wrong?  Compassionate Americans, as usual, early on have given millions to help the Haitians – yet they are still homeless and nothing has been rebuilt.

Clearly the answer must be – the money sent to the leaders went into the pockets of corrupt people and not to the suffering victims.

This despicable scenario happens every time.  We are too trusting, and we never learn.

I submit – we Americans must never again send money to the leaders of an injured or destroyed country.

Instead, we should use those millions meant to help the poor with American builders to go to Haiti and rebuild everything themselves.

This way, the Haitian people can have homes built for them, water made safe for them, streets, schools, and hospitals built for them, in a timely manner.

Also, our government sent many trucks to help clear the enormous debris.   According to U.S. media, they have never been used in this entire year.  They remain in ports because the Haitian government demands import taxes like 40% to allow the trucks into the country.   How can the Haitians be helped when their own leaders create such insane restrictions?

Let’s stop being naïve and stupid when dealing with various disasters in other countries, and let’s stop trusting corrupt leaders.   There is a simple solution.  Let’s never again send money.  Instead, send workers and materials.

For KSCO, this is Kay Zwerling.
