TWO SALINAS MEN CHARGED WITH ROBBING TWO HOLLISTER STORES AND ENGAGING IN A POLICE CHASE THAT ENDED IN THE DEATH OF ANOTHER SUSPECT HAVE ACCEPTED PLEA DEALS WITH EXPECTED PRISON TERMS OF 15 AND 20 YEARS. 21-YEAR-OLD ROBERTO SILVA AND 20-YEAR-OLD OMAR MEDRANO WERE CHARGED BY SAN BENITO COUNTY PROSECUTORS FOR THE APRIL 2010 ROBBERY AND CAR CHASE. PROSECUTORS CHARGED SILVA AND MEDRANO WITH FELONY COUNTS OF MURDER, ROBBERY, USE OF A FIREARM, AND PARTICIPATING IN A STREET GANG. SILVA’S SENTENCE HEARING IS SET FOR JULY 26TH, AND MEDRANO’S SENTENCE IS SET FOR JULY 27TH.
