A SALINAS MAN HAS PLEADED NO CONTEST TO ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES, RELATING TO A SHOOTING IN (MAY OF LAST YEAR). RICHARD GONZALES, WHO IS NOW 18-YEARS-OLD, ALSO ADMITTED TO PERSONALLY CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY, USING A FIREARM, AND COMMITTING THE CRIME FOR THE BENEFIT OF A GANG. THE VICTIM WAS ABLE TO SURVIVE THE SHOOTING, WHICH OCCURRED IN A DRIVEWAY NEAR BORONDA ROAD. GONZALES FACES UP TO 24-YEARS IN PRISON, HE IS SET TO BE SENTENCED ON JUNE 29TH. MEANWHILE, A 2ND-SUSPECT IN THE SHOOTING IS STILL BEING SOUGHT.
