the largest solar power system in santa cruz county began operation recently at a local business. technology company plantronics on encinal street upgraded to an 870-kilowatt solar power system. the system cost 4-million dollars and is expected to offset 80-percent of plantronics utility bill. in addition to the new solar power system, plantronics also installed “sun tubes” throughout the offices to provide more natural light.
