The California Department Of Parks And Recreation and CalFire scheduled a 9-acre prescribed burn for today. The 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. burn, in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park near the Observation Platform, is being conducted to reduce the threat of a catastrophic wildfire. It will be in accordance with a smoke management permit issued by the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District.
