A 65-year-old man was not seriously injured, after crashing a Cessna into the Ocean on Friday evening, near Hawaii. Charles Brain Mello, a resident of Spain, had taken off alone, from Monterey Peninsula Airport. He was destined for Hawaii, but contacted the Coast Guard after realizing he was going to run out of fuel. Coast guard air crews were able to guide Mello to a successful crash landing into the ocean. He was taken to a hospital on the Big Island, where he was treated, and released on saturday.
