Pilings to be replaced, M.L. 10/09/11 7:45p.m. TDH

The California coastal commission has given approval, for officials at moss landing harbor to begin some repair work. Commissioners had to approve a waiver, before the project to replace damaged pilings could begin.   The granting of the waiver clears the way for officials to receive 1-point-5-million dollars, provided by the federal government.     The project will include replacing 220-timber-pilings, (which are used to anchor docks), with ones that are made of pre-cast concrete.   The damage was incurred during the tsunami surge on march 11th.
