The Salinas Police Department has issued a warning that there’s another phone scam that appears to be targeting senior citizens. Reportedly, a caller has been impersonating an officer who demands money or gift cards to help out a relative who has been arrested or is otherwise in trouble. Officials with the department say that they do not call people, and they certainly would never ask for money over the phone.
