PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY WORKERS HAVE RESTORED POWER TO THE PORTION OF SALINAS THAT LOST POWER AFTER A VEHICLE HIT A POWER POLE THERE LAST NIGHT. THE 7:45 P.M. ACCIDENT OCCURRED NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH MAIN STREET AND BORONDA DRIVE IN NORTH SALINAS. APPROXIMATELY 36 HUNDRED P.G. & E. CUSTOMERS WERE IMPACTED BY THAT OUTAGE.
SOME STORES AT NORTHRIDGE MALL EVACUATED CUSTOMERS TO PREVENT POSSIBLER SHOPLIFTING AFTER THE POWER WENT OUT, HOWEVER THE MALL ITSELF WAS NEVER EVACUATED.
