The people who’s power was turned off during the October 9th Public Safety Power Shut-Off will be getting a 100 dollar credit, while the owners of businesses who’s power was shut off that day will get a 250 dollar credit. P.G. & E agreed to the one-time bill credit because they “did not live up to their expectations when it came to communicating about this event” because both the P.G. & E. Power Outage Maps, and Call Centers, were overwhelmed with the traffic the October 9th shut-off generated. P.G. & E. Officials say that the 50,000 Santa Cruz county (and other) P.G. & E. Customers (that were impacted by the October 9th Public Safety Power Shut-Off) will automatically get the Bill Credits on their accounts.
