Pacific Grove council members met tonight to discuss the results of a recent survey where residents voted not to share it’s police services. The month-long survey taken last november, was commissioned by the city as a way to consider reducing public safety costs by contracting with Monterey, Seaside or the Sheriff’s Office. Over a thousand people who live and work in PG completed the survey, and about 3-quarters of them expressed a preference for the city to keep it’s own police department as a way of maintaining community identity.
