A PLAN IS BEING OUTLINED TO FORM A COMPROMISE BETWEEN RESIDENTS OF A PACIFIC GROVE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE STATE COASTAL COMMISSION. A RESIDENTS ONLY PARKING ZONE IN THE DEWEY AVENUE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS REMOVED LAST YEAR BY ORDER OF THE COASTAL COMMISSION, DUE TO A PERMIT GRANTED TO PACIFIC GROVE TO INSTALL PARKING METERS ALONG THE STREET. AN APPEAL WAS SCHEDULED TO BE HEARD NEXT WEEK, BUT WAS RECENTLY WITHDRAWN. CITY OFFICIALS HOPE TO HAVE A NEW PARKING PLAN TO PRESENT TO THE COASTAL COMMISSION BY MAY.
