THE CITY OF PACIFIC GROVE WILL END THE FISCAL YEAR IN THE BLACK, NOW THE CITY COUNCIL WILL HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH THE LEFT OVER REVENUES. THE CITY COUNCIL WILL HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION ON WHETHER TO PAY FOR HIGH-PRIORITY PROGRAMS, SUCH AS STREET MAINTENANCE AND MORE LIBRARY FUNDING, OR TO BUILD THE CITY’S RESERVE OVER A 5-YEAR PERIOD. THE CITY’S RESERVE COULD BE BUILT TO NEARLY 4-MILLION DOLLARS OVER 5 YEARS. THE COUNCIL COULD REVIEW A DRAFT OF THE 2011-2012 BUDGET ON MAY 11TH, WITH A FINAL VOTE ON JUNE 15TH.
