Pacific Grove police have began issuing warnings on the coastal rec trail. Officers have been trying to stem the use of electric bicycles on the trail. The effort is due to safety concerns because of the speed and weight of the vehicles. At this time citations are not being given, however motorized vehicles have been outlawed since 1978, when the area experienced a similar problem with mopeds on the trail.
