Customers of Pacific Gas and Electric could see an increase in their utility bill in 2020.
The rate increase for electric and gas combined will mean paying on average $6 more per month.
This change in price will show up sometime next year, but only if the California Public Utilities Commission approves the rate increase.
Before such a proposal makes it to the state Public Utilities Commission, a hearing and public comment period must take place prior to seeking approval from the five-member commission. (CPUC)
The average electricity customer pays $120 per month for electricity and $50 for gas.
