Pacific Gas and Electric Co. announced today (Wednesday) that President and CEO Bill Johnson will retire at the end of June.
Johnson took over the role last April to help guide the company out of bankruptcy. He became the face of the PG&E as it shut off power for thousands of customers on several occasions last year.
Johnson will remain until June 30th. Bill Smith, a PG&E board member and former president of AT&T Technology Operations, will become the interim CEO of PG&E after Johnson’s departure
