PG&E IS WARNING ITS CUSTOMERS OF SCAMMERS ASKING FOR PAYMENTS VIA EMAIL AND PHONE. SEVERAL VICTIMS HAVE RECEIVED EMAILS CONTAINING A LINK THAT LOOKS IDENTICAL TO THE COMPANY’ ‘MY ENERGY’ LINK. OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED RECEIVING PHONE CALLS CLAIMING THEY OWE MONEY OR THAT THEY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A FEDERAL TAX REFUND. PG&E REMINDS THE PUBLIC THEY CAN ACCESS THEIR ‘MY ENERGY’ ACCOUNT SAFELY THROUGH PGE.COM. ADDITIONALLY CUSTOMERS WILL NEVER BE ASKED TO MAKE PAYMENTS OVER THE PHONE.
