PG CITY COUNCIL REVIEWS MOTEL DISPUTE 5-6-14 1745 OG

A PROPOSED 9-UNIT ADDITION TO THE SEA BREEZE LODGE IS ON THE AGENDA FOR THE PACIFIC GROVE CITY COUNCIL. IN MARCH, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVED AN AMENDMENT TO AN EXISTING 3-UNIT ADDITION PERMIT, ALLOWING THE LODGE OWNERS TO INCREASE THE TOTAL UNITS TO 39. THE APPROVAL WAS APPEALED BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS ROXANNE AND ADIBA MAHROOM. THEIR APPEAL SAYS THE ORIGINAL PERMIT HAD EXPIRED AND THE CITY FAILED TO REVIEW THE POTENTIAL ENVIRONMENT IMPACT OF THE TRIPLED EXPANSION. IT ALSO CONTENDS THE CITY VIOLATED THE BROWN ACT BY APPROVING WATER ALLOCATION FOR THE PLAN. THE PACIFIC GROVE COUNCIL MEETING WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY AT 6 P-M AT CITY HALL.
