Pacific Grove city council members have voted to ban medical marijuana dispensaries in the city. The 5-2 vote on Wednesday night prevents any marijuana clinics from opening or operating in the city, however the ordinance does have exceptions. Health care, and residential care-givers, as well as hospice facilities, will be allowed to distribute the drug to their patients with valid medical cards. The ban also allows residents with medical marijuana cards to maintain a residential garden, in accordance with state law, which allows medical users to grow a 25-square foot plot.
