the deadline to get the whooping cough vaccine for kids entering 7th grade through 12 grade is fast approaching. health officials estimate that about 11-thousand students in santa cruz county have complied with the new rule requiring all students to get the vaccine before starting school. the other 11-thousand students were granted an extension by governor jerry brown. the county offers the immunization at its emeline avenue clinic and the watsonville health center for a 15-dollar administrative fee.
