A 55-year-old man died this morning, after being struck by a vehicle near carmel high school. A 16-year-old girl driving an s.u.v struck the man at 7:30 a.m., as he crossed highway-1 near flanders drive. the victim was transported to community hospital of the monterey peninsula, where he was pronounced dead. Highway-1 was closed for about 40 minutes following the fatal accident.
