The group that represents managers of state parks has asked governor brown to replace the parks director. The California state parks peace officer management association, which is made up of 125 state park managers, sent the governor a letter last week, asking him to fire director ruth coleman, or ask her to resign. Coleman has served in the position for almost a decade, however the parks managers have apparently lost confidence in her leadership. State parks officials have been scrambling to find a way to avoid closure of more than 70 parks due to budget cuts. Managers say there hasn’t been a cohesive plan by the director, a notion she disputes.
