Members of a Salinas church are hoping to re-name a local park after a former pastor. They say that Pastor Herb Valero was helping people in need when he was killed by a fellow parishioner in 2017. They want to re-name Monte Bella Community Park, To Pastor Herb Valero Memorial Park, because he lived right across from the park. About 120 signatures have been gathered so far, and Salinas City Council Members say they will discuss the possible re-naming at their April 16th meeting.
