Local Congressman Jimmy Panetta released the following statement on the passing of Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Congressman Elijah Cummings
“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my colleague, Congressman Elijah Cummings. He was a tireless public servant and a civil rights champion who dedicated his life to promoting justice and equality. He was devoted to his community, and committed to making our government work better for all. It was a great honor to have served alongside him in Congress and I will truly miss him. My prayers are with his family.”
