A Central Coast school district has been named as one of the most financially troubled in the state. According to a report released by the California Department of Education, Pajaro Valley Unified is one of the top five districts struggling with deficit and budget constraints. The report analyzed figures from more than 1,000 school districts. Pajaro Valley Unified officials say they have been reliant on state revenues and that their financial future is dependent on the revision of Governor Brown’s January budget proposal this spring.
