Pacific Ocean dissolving crab shells 01-30-20 06:20 DC

A new study finds that as the Pacific Ocean becomes more acidic,  Dungeness Crab is having parts of its shell dissolved and their sensory organs damaged by the lower pH level of the seawater.

The injuries have shown-up earlier than expected. The study’s authors say more attention needs to be paid to the food chain before – quote —  it’s too late.
