THE CITY OF PACIFIC GROVE HAS WON A 240 THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT, THAT IS DESIGNED TO BE USED TO HELP CLEAN UP STORM WATER BEFORE IT GETS TO THE MONTEREY BAY NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY. THE MONEY CAN BE USED FOR WATERSHED MODELING, TAKING AN INVENTORY OF TREES ON PUBLIC LANDS, AND “BIOSWALES”. THOSE INCLUDE TREES AND LANDSCAPING THAT HELP FILTER SILT AND POLLUTANTS FROM STORM WATER RUN-OFF.
THE GRANT MONEY WILL COME FROM THE STATE’S STRATEGIC GROWTH COUNCIL.
