Local residents held a meeting last night to voice their concerns about the proposed Santa Cruz Redwoods National Monument. The monument would be located on the 7,000-acre Coast Dairies property. Around 70 people attended the meeting, which was hosted by the Rural Bonny Doon Association. Some local residents are concerned that the monument will increase trash and traffic, and that there is not enough funding to provide additional emergency services for visitors. The designation proposal is moving forward with the support of California politicians and conservationists.
