The perpetrators who smashed in the window of O’Neill Surf Shop and stole 5 skateboards in downtown Santa Cruz pleaded no contest to the charges on Monday. 19-year-old Harley Dean and 25-year-old Daniel Hark accepted the felony theft and vandalism charges for the February 28th incident. The duo was caught after witness descriptions led to their discovery in the parking lot of the Civic Auditorium, and surveillance cameras confirmed their involvement. Dean was sentenced to 180 days in Santa Cruz County Jail and 3 years probation. Hark is slated to be sentenced on April 23rd.
