A SACRAMENTO ASSEMBLYMAN WANTS TO BAN THE ON-LINE SALE OF TOBACCO TO ANYONE WIN CALIFORNIA. HE SAYS THAT’S BECAUSE KIDS ARE BEING ABLE TO PURCHASE TOBACCO THAT WAY, AND HE WANTS THE SALE OF TOBACCO TO UNDERAGE PEOPLE TO BE STOPPED. TO DO THAT, AB-1500 (15-HUNDRED), IF APPROVED, WOULD BAN THE SHIPMENT OF ALL TOBACCO PRODUCTS TO ANYONE IN CALIFORNIA, EXCEPT RETAILERS (THAT SELL TOBACCO PRODUCTS). STUDIES SHOW THAT MORE THAN 14 PERCENT OF ALL U.S. TOBACCO SALES ARE CURRENTLY MADE ON-LINE.
