OVER THE YEARS, THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY WATER DISTRICT HAS ABSORBED A NUMBER OF SMALLER LOCAL WATER COMPANIES, AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE 51-HOME OLYMPIA MUTUAL WATER COMPANY (WHICH NEEDS TO DO WORK ON THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE, BUT CANNOT AFFORD TO DO SO) WILL BE NEXT. THE COMMUNITY WATER COMPANY SERVES 51 HOMES WEST OF ZAYANTE CREEK. THE ANNEXATION WAS APPROVED YESTERDAY BY THE SANTA CRUZ COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION, AND, IF NO MORE THAN 25 PERCENT OF NEIGHBORS OBJECT, THE MERGER WILL BECOME OFFICIAL.
