A salinas police officer is being credited with preventing a suicide attempt friday morning. the officer responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 19-hundred block of Princeton court at 9 a.m. after the fight between a husband and wife appeared to have been resolved, the husband attempted to jump off of a 2nd-story balcony with a cord around his neck. The officer was able to hold the man up, and safely cut him down. The man was not reportedly injured, however he was taken to a local hospital to be examined, and for a psychiatric evaluation.
