An officer-involved shooting occurred on Saturday night involving an armed man threatening self-harm.
The 11 PM Saturday night incident took place at a cemetery where officers found him armed with “what appeared to be a pistol”.
A Sergeant spoke to the suspect, 23 year old Francis Davi of Monterey, over a phone.
Davi charged at the two officers while bearing his firearm, and two officers opened fire at him, with a less lethal projectile striking the suspect.
Davi surrendered immediately after being taken down. He was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail for the following charges:
- Criminal Threats
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of a BB gun without the safety markings.
