A call is set to be heard monday for looser leash laws on beaches in the live oak area of santa cruz county. board members of the santa cruz county animal shelter will consider a petition calling for off-leash hours [lasting] from sunrise to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to dark, on beaches from 20th avenue to moran lake beach. more than 1-thousand signatures have been collected in support of the change. The board is set to meet at 3 p.m., at the county building on ocean street.
