(14:55) CAPITOLA- Capitola police established traffic controls as fire crews battled a vehicle fire at a 41st Avenue gas station on Saturday. Shortly before noon a fire broke out in the engine compartment of a VW van at the gas pump of the Chevron station on the corner of Capitola Road and 41st Avenue. Police sent out a a Nixle alert advising residents to avoid the area while employees implemented the emergency gas shut off and fire fighters quickly extinguished the blaze. No one was injured during the fire and traffic was restored to normal after 15 minutes.
