October 29, 2015: Drought Blamed for Low Salmon Numbers

The National Marine Fisheries Service has announced record low juvenile salmon numbers this year. The report says California’s ongoing drought is responsible for shallow and warm water conditions in rivers that has killed off most of this years juvenile Chinook salmon trying to make it to the pacific ocean. The count was the lowest since it was implemented in the 1990’s.
