(10:40) SANTA CRUZ- Santa Cruz gardeners and activists are appealing to the City Council and the Seaside Company to spare an established community garden. The Jardin de la Playa or Santa Cruz Beach Flats Community Garden has been cultivated as a healthy food source and a alternative cultural center for more than 20 years. On November 13th the property’s owner, The Seaside Company, which operates the Beach Boardwalk, plans on reclaiming the property, and closing the garden, despite a petition with over 2500 signatures appealing to the company to spare the community garden.
