(08:11)SANTA CRUZ- A car crashed through a guardrail at the Santa Cruz Wharf before plunging into the bay Saturday night. Authorities say that shortly before 8:30 p.m. police and fire crews responded to the scene, where rescue divers pulled two males from the submerged vehicle. The victims were transported to Dominican Hospital, where one was pronounced dead the other remains in critical condition. The vehicle was recovered from a depth of 25 feet. The cause of the incident is under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the event is asked to contact Santa Cruz police.
