October 14, 2015: Assemblyman Alejo Calls on Feds to Investigate King City Police Department

(08:14) KING CITY – A local politician has called on federal officials to launch an investigation into the King City Police Department. Assemblyman Luis Alejo delivered the request Tuesday in a letter to the United States Department of Justice. In recent years, the police department has been under scrutiny for officer corruption and allegations of evidence tampering. Most recently, the city’s newly appointed police chief, Ron Forgue, was fired without cause. Former Seaside Police Chief Tony Sollecito has since agreed to serve as King City’s interim police chief. Alejo’s most recent proposal follows a request he made earlier this year to audit the department. His request was granted and the audit is expected to be completed in three months. (S.G.)
