The santa cruz county government building on santa cruz’s ocean street is expected to be open today, despite flooding that occurred on Friday evening. At 6:30 p.m., a valve in a bathroom burst, which sent water gushing through the hallways of the building. About 5-thousand gallons were estimated to have spilled. Most of the water has been cleaned up, and the courts and offices are expected to be open, (however some hallways still might be blocked.) Crews are still trying to estimate the cost of the damage incurred.
