An update on the Oak Woodland Conservation Plan is expected to be presented this evening to the Seaside city council. The plan designates conservation areas within the development parcels on the former Fort Ord. That’s in an effort to link the Fort Ord National Monument with the Open Space near East Garrison, and The Landfill. The Fort Ord Base Re-Use Plan requires the city of Seaside, along with other jurisdictions (that gained property when the Base closed)….to work together to designate, manage, and monitor the conservation of Oak Woodlands on the former Fort Ord.
Tonight’s Seaside city council meeting is slated to begin at 6 p.m. in Seaside City Hall (which is on Harcourt Avenue).
