Last night’s officer involved-involved shooting and Stand-Off near Gonzales is over. The incident began when a suspect (in an attempted murder) shot at Salinas Police officers and then fled the area. The suspect fired at officers again after a chase that led them out of Salinas and down Old Stage Road towards Gonzales. At that point officers returned fire and the suspect was injured. He was transported to a medical facility where he was listed in Critical Condition. The incident will be investigated by the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.
