(11:00) Santa Cruz – The 10th annual Harvest Festival was held last Thursday. The event, led by youth empowerment and Food justice nonprofit Food, What? Brought out 250 middle and high school students from across Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. The festival took place on the UC Santa Cruz Life Lab Farm. The event was created to educate the youth about food justice issues and to encourage them to eat healthy foods. Amongst the various information booths and demonstrations on how to make apple pie, pumpkin painting and hay rides, the Santa Cruz Warriors led a station on Hydration and handed out free water bottles.
